Summary

In the face of droughts, the option is not to fight against them but to adapt. This adaptation requires awareness and involvement on the part of all the actors in the territory on an integral scale, ranging from resources on a regional scale to the consumption habits adopted in each area. To increase adaptation to these episodes, which are becoming increasingly frequent, it is necessary to maintain the criteria and carry out corrective and planned actions beyond the drought episode itself.

In short, to adapt water management to the new reality in which we find ourselves, we need to accumulate information and be able to process it correctly. This means committing to cooperation and data exchange between the different bodies responsible for the different systems of the water cycle, the development of statistical methodologies that allow us to accurately estimate what can happen and to be able to manage water based on prevention.
