BARCELONA REGIONAL, AGÈNCIA DE DESENVOLUPAMENT URBÀ, S.A. (established in 1993, originally under the name of Barcelona Regional Agència Metropolitana de Desenvolupament Urbanístic i d’Infraestructures, S.A.), is a multi-member public limited company, with public shareholders, which is a joint venture directly administered by its shareholders and governed by the Capital Companies Act, by its Articles of Association, and by any other applicable provisions.
Barcelona Regional is considered an instrumental medium and technical service of Barcelona City Council and Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB).
No tendering company may entrust the company with the rendering of the service tendered.
Barcelona Regional does not award any subsidies to other institutions.
The objective of the company is to render services to its shareholders and other public, related or dependent bodies in the field of urban, environmental and infrastructural projects of all kinds, by carrying out studies, analyses and surveys of urban, territorial and environmental content, and the promotion, management, direction, advice, contracting, execution and operation of all kinds of projects, works, buildings, infrastructures and urban systems.
The Company is governed and managed:
- By the General Shareholders’ Meeting.
- The Board of Directors shall consist of at least three and a maximum of fifteen members.
The position of Director is not remunerated.

Bárbara Pons Giner directora general de Barcelona Regional i subscriure amb ella el corresponent contracte de personal d’alta direcció d’acord amb el Decret 1382/1985, de l’1 d’agost.Segon- Encarregar-li específicament dur a terme les relacions institucionals de Barcelona Regional amb els socis de l’empresa i la representació corporativa de la societat en les seves relacions amb tercers i especialment amb les autoritats locals, autonòmiques, estatals i internacionals, així com en trobades i esdeveniments de caràcter professional, científic o informatiu.Tercer- Assignar-li la mateixa retribució de cent un mil dos-cents seixanta euros bruts anuals (101.260 euros), que estava percebent l’anterior director general i amb les mateixes condicions i facultar el Sr. Xavier Patón per concretar la resta de condicions i signar el contracte corresponent en nom de Barcelona Regional.”
The budget for the year 2024, approved at the meeting of the Board of Directors on 14 December 2023, is €9,251,200.
